Ready for Christmas?

Well, we have 5 trees trimmed, my Christmas village is up, 2 bathrooms are decorated, outside is looking good....but are we ready for Christmas? The gifts are all bought and the cookies are all decorated...but Mommy is not ready for Christmas! Still need to work on Christmas cards, finish planning Christmas Eve Mass, wrap the stack of presents downstairs, and make my students presents. I have a lot of work cut out for me in the next couple of weeks. Thus, don't expect too much out of the blog....it won't take me two months again, though....I promise!

Here are our 15 1/2 dozen cookies....alot of work with three little elves helping!

Two of my biggest and baddest helpers!

Movie Time! We have been taking in Christmas movies constantly the past week. I love this time of the year!

Parade of Lights

We attended the "Parade of Lights" in Archbold again this year. It had been a couple of years since our last viewing so the kids didn't really remember what it was all about. It was a terribly cold night but we ventured out with our dear friends - The Seibert's & The Taller's. Daddy was so excited to see the Sauder float this year as he helped to design it. Here is a snapshot of the creation! The TV actually had "Charlie Brown's Christmas" playing which won my children over!

You see anything and everything imaginable in this parade. A Christmas spider....the legs did move though...cool!

Santa securely riding on top of the school bus. I am sure he was wearing a seat belt up there. We think bus drivers have it rough hauling children around...how about the big guy in the red suit?

This is a good reminder that we do live in the farmland of Northwest Ohio.

Halloween Pictures

Since we are so far behind in posting....here are the two crayons with their box!

Cole dressed as the "Cat in the Hat"!

The Meyer Trio ready to go. It was a good night for trick-or-treating and our addition was not overly busy. No one won at the fireman's contest but everyone had fun dressing up and getting way too much candy. In fact, we sent quite a load to work with Daddy!

The Latest News

Cole got his first report card....all "A's" EXCEPT conduct. Talking....talking.....talking! Rumor is the teacher is mean and doesn't like to give "A's"!

Before family pictures, Daddy snapped this shot. Diego joined the picture in the background! Great picture but Heidi's hair wasn't dolled up yet! Mommy finally got the pictures ordered so soon you will be getting updated pictures!

Are these two twin brothers? Nope! Just so happen to have the same bad habit of having their hands in or near their mouths! Actually, they are just passing some time before the pictures. After everyone else gets ready, it is Mommy's turn.

That pretty girl has her hair done and is all ready in her new outfit to get some pictures taken. Consequently, her pictures were the best. I think I finally have a photogenic child!

Cole

Cole just keeps losing teeth...3 lost and 3 coming in. Andy helped knock the first two out and the last one Cole managed to knock out on his own!

He is quite the inventor, too. He likes to shut himself in the game closet and invent things like this "car moving machine".

School Carnival

Each Fall, St. Mary's School has a Mission Carnival. This year Daddy made this cake for the "Cake Walk". To say the least, we did not win this cake or any other one. Good thing, Mom and Dad thought ahead to make two cakes... one for school and one for home.

Daddy took the day off work too! That meant Heidi and Andy got to join in the fun. This was there first year and everything was exciting to do and play. The whole church basement is packed full of games and kids eager to spend their parent's money.

The kids win prizes or candy no matter what. We ended up with a lot of candy for Heidi and Andy's efforts!

Cole got the chance to play games with Cousin Josh.... what a good day! Mommy was sure glad when it was over... Hurray for St. Mary's School!

Good Pictures

At the carnival, there is always a "Buddy Picture" stand. The Meyer Trio stops for a picture at the ice cream parlor!

Wow - That is a pretty good family picture!

Fire Prevention Week

We celebrated Fire Prevention Week by visiting the fire hall and taking a ride. The kids sat in the fire truck and just took it all in. It is the quietest I think they get in a vehicle. If they were only that good and quiet when Mommy and Daddy are driving!

We wait for our ride....oh the anticipation!

Halloween Cookies

We started out October by making some yummy Halloween cookies. We have three expert cookie cutters that live in our house and they were eager to help. It actually went well so just maybe we will make some Christmas cutouts this year as well. Andy was the pumpkin man!

Heidi was an expert on making black kitties!

Cole worked on the ghosts. He was even patient enough to let the other two cut first.

We got up the next day and frosted. Andy likes to lick everything constantly! Cole is really pretty good with it. We actually let him help for longer than his brother and sister. Heidi just wants to put the frosting on and get another cookie. I think she was a little upset that our cats had to be black....no purple!

Football Time!

We have been very excited about football in the Meyer home this year. The Bulldogs are currently 4-0 heading into week number five! Go dogs! Cole has attended every game with Mommy and Daddy and is very much into watching the game until about the 4th quarter when the urge to sleep starts to set in. Heidi and Andy enjoy some extra time with G-ma while G-pa joins us at the game. This past weekend started flag football season and here stand the future of EHS football! Cousin Josh plays on the 3rd-4th grade team while Cole is on the 1st-2nd grade team.

This is what the game situation looks like....coaches trying to position their players after every play. Cole actually had two games this past Sunday so it was rough for them to stay focused for that long. Cole did an exceptionally great job! He would be the first to tell you about his touchdown run from one end of the field to the other. He was terribly pumped! Mommy and G-ma even witnessed it, which is pretty amazing considering they were trying to take in two games at one time!

Good game! It is all about sportsmanship at this level....that is one thing I like about Cole's athletics at this age. There is no score and it is all about having fun. Let's hope he is still having this much fun in 10 years!

Being Three!

Being three is tough, my feet just won't grow fast enough to fill Daddy's shoes.

Heidi finally grew enough to fit into this "princess" nighty gown. Aw.....life is good when this princess is happy!

Toledo Zoo Visit

We finally made it to the Toledo Zoo in early September. We would hate to use our membership too early in the year! We took G-ma and Papa with us to celebrate Grandparents Day at the zoo. We got there real early to beat all the crazy people. It was even cool that day as you can see we are wearing jackets and jeans. It was a really beautiful sunny day though! Being there early also makes viewing the animals better. The have just been fed and are much more playful to watch.

We took a ton of pictures that day. Of course, every stone statue that was spotted by the trio was a photo opportunity!

My little princess...

Cole had a silly way of posing for every picture!
